Clarifying / Nucleating Masterbatch (Clarifying Masterbatch – KPA-NU P۹۷-۳)
Kavosh Polymer Alborz’s KPA-NU P97-3 series clarifying and nucleating masterbatch is a specialized additive designed to transform Polypropylene (PP) into a polymer with glass-like clarity. By controlling the crystallization process, this product stimulates the formation of crystals smaller than the wavelength of visible light. In addition to providing excellent transparency (reducing Haze), it decreases injection cycle times, enhances mechanical properties, and increases the thermal resistance of molded parts.
Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most widely used polymers due to its reasonable price and ideal mechanical properties; however, its semi-crystalline and hazy structure limits its application in products requiring glass-like transparency. Kavosh Polymer Alborz’s KPA-NU P97-3 clarifying masterbatch features an advanced formulation containing powerful nucleating agents that completely alter the crystallization structure of PP.
The mechanism of this masterbatch is based on creating numerous rapid nucleation sites during the cooling of the polymer melt. This process causes the formation of extremely fine and uniform spherulites and crystals that are smaller than the wavelength of visible light. Consequently, light passes through the product without scattering, creating crystal-clear transparency similar to PET.
Beyond significantly upgrading visual quality and eliminating surface haze, KPA-NU P97-3 provides numerous technical and economic advantages. Increasing the crystallization rate reduces injection cycle times and boosts production efficiency. Furthermore, this additive elevates the flexural modulus, hardness, dimensional stability, and Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of the component while preventing defects such as warpage.
