Kavosh Polymer Alborz’s KPA-OM series gloss-enhancing masterbatch is a specialized additive formulated with optical brighteners to increase radiance, eliminate yellowing, and elevate the visual quality of polymer products. By absorbing invisible UV radiation and re-emitting it as visible blue-spectrum light, this product neutralizes the inherent yellow tint of virgin polymers and recycled materials, bestowing a bright, vibrant, and fresh appearance upon the final product.
The functional mechanism of this masterbatch is based on the optical phenomenon of fluorescence. The active component absorbs ambient ultraviolet (UV) radiation and re-emits it within the visible blue wavelength range. This reflected blue light neutralizes the yellow hue present in the polymer matrix, creating an optical effect that makes the surface appear significantly brighter, whiter, and more vibrant.
The KPA-OM series is formulated on various carrier resins—including Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS), and ABS—to ensure complete compatibility across diverse conversion processes such as injection molding, extrusion, film blowing, sheet extrusion, and pipe/profile manufacturing. Incorporating this masterbatch at optimal dosing rates (0.5% to 1%) plays a crucial role in improving the aesthetic profile of recycled resins and acts as an effective complement to white masterbatches to achieve peak brightness.
